The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the
following statement:

 

Ensure Ceasefire in Gaza

 

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns Israel's
repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement announced by the US and
accepted by Israel, with its latest attack on Gaza.

 

This attack once again demonstrates the fragility of the ceasefire and the
necessity to rein in Israel's aggression. The US, which trumpeted the
ceasefire, must ensure it is strictly enforced. This can be achieved only by
curbing Israel's aggression and expansionist policies. The international
community must also pressure Israel to comply.

 

The CPI(M) reiterates that a lasting peace is possible only with the
recognition of the State of Palestine and an end to military and political
support for Israel from the United States and its allies.
