[Marxistindia] Kozhikode airport accident and Idukki landslide

Press Statement
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the
following statement:
Kozhikode airport accident
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses its grief at the Air India Express
accident in Kozhikode airport which has resulted in the death of 19
passengers and crew members and injuries to 123 others. The crash occurred
while the flight from Dubai was landing in inclement weather at the airport.
The PB conveys its heartfelt condolences to all the families who have lost
their dear ones. 
There has to be a full and speedy investigation into the circumstances and
cause of the mishap so as to ensure that such mishaps do not occur again.
Idukki landslide
The PB expresses sorrow at the death of 22 tea garden workers and their
family members who were killed in a landslide which engulfed their quarters
in Idukki district of Kerala. Many are still missing due to this calamity
caused by torrential rain.
All efforts must be made to provide succour to the affected people.
