(Hari Singh Kang)

For CPI(M) Central Committee office

Dear Shri Arora ji,

At the very outset, let me thank you on all of our behalf for recognizing
the grave situation of law and order prevailing in Tripura. We hope that,
the steps that you have initiated will ensure a free and fair poll in the
Tripura East (ST) parliamentary constituency which is now going to be held
on 23 April.

Meanwhile, the obnoxious activities of the hoodlums associated with the
ruling BJP in the state continue. I am hereby forwarding two letters
addressed to you by the CPI(M) Tripura state committee. I am also, as part
of the annexure, attaching a report published by the Indian Express to the
effect that threats to citizens who support the CPI(M) and the Left is
served with chilling imageries.

Further, we would like to request you to accede to our demand of holding
re-poll in the 464 polling booths of Tripura West parliamentary constituency
held on 11th April. Now that, the premise on which we had made this demand
initially, stands recognized by you, we hope that your decision would lead
to its logical culmination.

Thanking you,

With regards,

Yours sincerely

Nilotpal Basu

Member, Polit Bureau
