Press Statement


The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the
following statement:


A Resounding Vindication


The Kerala High Court judgement is a resounding vindication of the stand
taken by the CPI (M) that the Lavalin case was a politically motivated
case. The Kerala High Court has upheld the judgment of the trial court
discharging Com. Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin case.

The High Court has stated that Pinarayi Vijayan was deliberately targeted
by the CBI. The Court has comprehensively debunked all the allegations
levelled against him.

The Lavalin case was sought to be used to besmirch the image of a leader
of the CPI(M) and the Party. The High Court verdict has effectively
exposed these efforts.
