[Marxistindia] Terrorist Attack in Assam Condemned

Press Statement

 

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the
following statement:

 

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the suspected terrorist
attack at Balajan Tiniali Bazar near Kokrajhar town, headquarters of the
Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD) administration. At least 14
innocent people were killed and 20 seriously injured when unidentified
gunmen opened fire at the weekly bazar.

 

This area has been known for long to be terrorist infested and it is strange
that the police administration and the BJP state government did not take
adequate measures to protect the life and property of the people.

 

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) demands that the security apparatus be
strengthened to protect life and property and all efforts must be made to
identify and punish the guilty
