The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued
the following statement:


The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) congratulates
the CPI(M) and the Left Front in Tripura for their magnificent victory
in the three-tier panchayat elections. The Left Front has won 415 out of
the 511 gram panchayats; it has won all the 23 panchayat samitis and the
four zilla parishads.


The Polit Bureau greets the people of Tripura who have reposed their
full confidence in the CPI(M) and the Left Front. With this mandate, the
CPI(M) and the Left Front government of Tripura will continue their
endeavours to serve the people and work for their welfare.
