Press Statement

 

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

 

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly disapproves the Cabinet decision not to call the monsoon session of the Parliament which should have convened on August 11.  Instead, the Parliament  is convening on October 17 to November 20.  This means  that there will not be any winter session either.  The UPA government is, thus, abdicating its accountability  to the Parliament especially when serious developments like the disturbances in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa etc are taking place.
